Clarissa Bañez

ABOUT

Clarissa Bañez (b. 1989, Manila) is a contemporary fine artist based in Prague, working in oil and graphite. Her work draws form the visual traditions of realism but is shaped by restraint, atmosphere and quiet emotional resonance. She creates emotionally focused works that explore memory, grief, and mental tension.

Her process is grounded in careful observation, slow refinement, and a commitment to archival materials. Living with aphantasia—the inability to form mental images—she paints directly from observation to give shape to thoughts and feelings that otherwise have no visual form.

Through soft forms and restrained compositions, her work gives shape to what stays with us long after a moment has passed.
