ABOUT
Clarissa Bañez (b. 1989, Manila) is a Filipino oil painter based in Prague. Her work draws from realist traditions, shaped by restraint, quiet emotion, and soft atmosphere. Living with aphantasia—the inability to form mental images—she paints to hold memory, emotion, and fleeting moments in physical form. Her practice centers on close observation, archival materials, and a need to give shape to what lingers.
